Our Ditch the Diet program is a tailored scientifically-supported coaching program to help you lose weight and regain control of your health without restrictive dieting. Our program is founded in a functional medicine approach where we dive deep into the root causes of your weight loss resistance - both physical and mental - so that you can finally lose the weight once and for all. We focus on sustainable habits and lifestyle change following our three signature program phases: Awareness → Accuracy → Accelerate. During the program, we will keeping you on track daily with our 1:3:5 Accountability Method. We leave no room for guesswork, crash diets, restrictive eating, or quick-fix supplements, just a clean, whole-foods based approach to eating.

Our Three Signature program Phases

 

Awareness

The first step to change is Awareness. Awareness is a critical element of change – if you don’t know where you are, it’s hard to make a roadmap to get anywhere else. Fear and discomfort are inevitable, so the goal is to become comfortable with the uncomfortable. In this first phase of the program, we focus on hunger cues, portions, relationship to food, water intake, and other habits.

 

Accuracy

There is a popular quote stating “What you measure, improves”. In month two, we are going to dial in on Accuracy. In this stage, we are not only going to look at quantity, but also quality. During the next phase, we will hone in on the calories, macronutrients, and micronutrients of what you’re consuming. At this point, we will also loop in advanced lab results to develop a more precise nutrition strategy.

 

Accelerate

We are going to put your awareness and accuracy on autopilot in order to build sustainable, Accelerated results. In the last phase of the program, you’ll work on solidifying meal plans and workout routines with the help of your coach.

  • What should I expect when signing up for a Discovery Call?

  • The discovery call is a no-strings attached call to evaluate your goals and the missing pieces in your puzzle.  It’s a quick 15-min conversation where you will chat with my program manager, Katie (who was a previous Ditch the Diet client), so we can get to know you better and see if our Ditch the Diet program could be a good fit. Talking to her is just like talking to me! If you want to get signed up for that call, go ahead and schedule here.

  • I have tried many diet programs to lose weight and none of them have worked. How is your program any different?

    • Diet programs are a one-size-fits-all approach. Everyone follows the same meal plans or guidelines. And it may work for some. But it won’t work for everyone. We take the opposite approach - a completely personalized strategy for everyone. Every person is different from their metabolism to their lifestyle so we work hands-on with every person to create a customized weight loss plan based on their goals.

  • How do meal plans work for everyone in the family?

    • Just like everything in our program, meal plans are fully customized to you - from your food preferences to what culinary skills you have and who is eating with you. If you need your meal plan to work for the entire family, we can accommodate that. If you want your meal plan to be just for you, we can walk you through ways to still make meal times easy with the whole family.

  • I am very interested in the program but am scared about committing. How do I know I won’t be wasting my money again?

    • I get it, you’ve probably been scarred by programs you’ve paid for in the past. Our program stands out in a few ways from anything you’ve done before. One of the unique aspects of our program is our lab testing component. Unlike health coaches, dietitians are trained in clinical nutrition (if your trainer or health coach is ordering labs, that’s a red flag). My team specifically is trained in functional lab testing to look at the root cause of health imbalances. We don’t just create a strategy based on what we “think” will work. We use data and science to drive our decisions. We have different labs in our toolbox that we include in your program pricing to guide our personalized recommendations.

  • I’m not a woman, can you still help me reach my goals?

    • Sure! We primarily work with women in our DTD program but we’ve had many men successfully go through the program individually or with their partners. We’ve seen men drop significant amounts of weight and reverse poor health markers in the duration of our program.

  • If my partner is looking for help too, can they get help?

    • Absolutely! You can add your significant other into different aspects of your program. Couples in our program share meal plans, coaching calls, and other features of the DTD program.

  • I have lab tests from my doctor. Can you analyze this with me?

    • Definitely. However, we find that conventional labs run by your doctor are often lacking. Conventional labs are typically looking for markers that diagnose disease. The labs we run, functional labs, are looking at root causes and how your body is (or isn’t) functioning optimally.

  • How does lab testing work? Is it a blood draw?

    • Most likely, yes! We work through a few lab providers and direct you to the closest option for a blood draw. A few of our tests are urine or stool tests but you will most likely go do a blood draw too.

  • Where is your office located?

    • Although my practice started in Houston, we now work 100% virtually with our clients. We find that we have more success and accountability with this method.

  • I live in Canada, do you work with Canadian clients?

    • Yes, we work with clients in the US and Canada exclusively. A few of our lab testing options are different in Canada but you still have the full experience of our program.

  • How much is the program? 

    • Pricing varies based on the length of the program, what’s included in your program, and what kind of payment setup you opt for. We never want finances to get in the way of you achieving your health goals, so we find flexible ways to work with everyone if it’s the right fit!

  • Do you take insurance? 

    • Yes! We currently accept BCBS, United, and Aetna insurance as part of a hybrid program payment model. We will bill insurance for the aspects of our program that are covered and you will be responsible for the other parts not covered by insurance - custom meal plans, texting accountability, and functional lab testing, for example. If you do not have any of these three insurances but you are in Texas, we can send you a Superbill for out-of-network reimbursement with your insurance provider.

  • How long does the program take? 

    • Our programs are usually 6 or 8 months long, and many of our clients continue working with us longer once they reach their maintenance stage! We set these time frames because weight loss is not an overnight fix. Our clients have significant weight, health, and overall lifestyle goals that take time to work through. Our average client loses 5-10lbs a month in our DTD program.

  • What exactly is included in the program? 

    • Our goal in the program is to address much more than just what's on your plate. We approach weight loss through our 5 pillars of health: Food, Drinks, Exercise, Lifestyle, and Mindset. You’ll see each of these aspects played out in our program. Our DTD programs include: custom meal plans, 1:1 dietitian coaching, texting accountability, functional lab testing, online education, and for some, therapy.
